Artesparto, craft and food fair in Sesma

For decades, many families from Sesma worked with esparto grass to make a living and although the trade died out more than 80 years ago, esparto grass can still be seen growing in the fields around the village to constantly remind us of this bygone tradition.

To pay tribute to its past, Sesma holds its traditional Artesparto fair, a day where you can discover how craftspeople work with esparto grass and see true works of art made with it. You can also stroll around different craft stalls and take part in the public migas (shepherd’s breadcrumbs) tasting.
