The Roman town of Cara Day

The residents of Santacara embark on a journey into the 1st century B.C. to convey the importance of Cara, the Roman town and forerunner of the present-day town of Santacara. A settlement that enjoyed periods of great splendour, as evidenced by the sculptural and architectural remains found in the area. So, Santacara is going back to its origins.

The residents dress up in tunics and invade the streets. The programme of activities includes a Roman market, alimentum and vinum for all, demonstration of trades such as pottery with a Roman wheel, artisan barrel making and horse shoeing, as well as guided tours of the Roman ruins of Cara.
