Inverdura, the gastro immersion in winter vegetables
Did you know that Tudela in southern Navarre is the queen of vegetables? It's fame is well-deserved given that the tenderest artichokes, asparagus, lettuce hearts, borage and cardoon are grown in the Ebro river plain. And one of the most popular dishes is made using a combination of some of these vegetables, the famous menestra or vegetable medley.
For a few weeks, in honour of the vegetables grown in the coldest season of the year, Tudela offers activities including routes, guided tours, competitions, community suppers open to everyone, folk events, workshops, degustations and tastings. In parallel, the restaurants in Tudela serve a special menu based on winter vegetables. Don't miss this plan which combines history and good food like none other!
