The Way of St. James: Lorca-Estella-Monastery of Irache

Navarre is the gateway to the Camino, and an exceptional place to start the Way.

This route approaches the Río Ega valley en route to Estella, a town founded by Sancho Rámirez in 1090 for the ever-increasing influx of pilgrims. It’s a Romanesque city boasting palaces, stately homes, churches, convents, bridges, and beautiful buildings that have earned it the nickname “Toledo of the North”.

Before reaching the Monastery of Irache, drink from a unique source of Navarre wine.
