Visit to the Zugarramurdi Cave

The cave is open until nightfall. It has no stalactites or stalagmites, and no cave paintings have been found on its walls. It has unique allure, a magical halo around it, for until the 17th century this was the setting for akelarres, pagan gatherings where men and women escaped everyday routine with frenzied feasts and dances around bonfires.
