Ikaburu Cave Day

The caves of Urdazubi/Urdax, also known as the caves of Ikaburu, are a feast for the senses. Man found refuge in them more than 20,000 years ago. Now it’s visitors who can enjoy their limestone formations on a mysterious walk alongside the underground Urtxume river.

These caves are a marvel of nature which the river has shaped over hundreds of thousands of years, the time it has taken rainwater, filtered drop by drop through the rock, to build stalactites, stalagmites and other formations that not even the most creative of sculptors could ever imagine.
