Iron Day in Urdazubi / Urdax

After a short journey by sea, the iron from the mines of Biscay is transported in ox-drawn wagons to the village. Music announces its arrival and under the watchful eye of the locals, the abbot of the monastery and the merchants negotiate a price, which, after some hard bargaining, ends in a deal: the iron is to stay in Urdazubi/Urdax.

Would you like to live this moment from the past? If you would , come to Urdazubi/Urdax and enjoy Iron Day. You’ll see a re-enactment of this tradition and enjoy the handicrafts and local produce market, together with a programme of activities for all the family.
