The trail follows the Larraun river, featuring waterfalls and three bridges that give the route its name. It crosses the Plazaola rail trail through pastures and beech, oak and chestnut woods, and passes an old mill.

The route, which begins at the Larraun council building, includes a short stretch along a pavement before joining the Plazaola rail trail. From there, it becomes a wide, flat path winding through grazing land along the riverbank.

The valley narrows, leading to a flat area where you can see several millstones, the Ixkier waterfall and the remains of an old mill. After about 150 metres, the trail leaves the rail trail, descending and crossing the Larraun river. Continue along the bank, through the woods, until you reach Beltzuntze stone bridge. A short climb leads back to the Plazaola rail trail, which you follow back to the starting point.
