Los Bolantes in Luzaide/Valcarlos

‘Los Bolantes’ in Luzaide/Valcarlos, the village which welcomes pilgrims on their way from France to Orreaga/Roncesvalles, perform one of Navarre’s most striking and ancestral dances.  On Resurrection Sunday, the graceful dancers perform in Plaza de Santiago in the morning and in the fronton in the afternoon.

Dressed in white with red berets, jingle bells and colourful ribbons on their backs which flutter to the rhythm of their leaps, they fill the air with feeling and colour, expressing the character of an entire village through their dance.

A great reception both for pilgrims as they pass through Valcarlos and for those who happen to be visiting the village, offering them the chance to enjoy a unique event.
