Bardenas Reales, the “desert” in the south of Navarre, is a breathtaking natural wonder and an essential destination when visiting the Community. Even more so for gravel bike lovers thanks to its endless tracks and spectacular viewpoints.

This route sets off from Arguedas and heads towards the Aguilares interpretation centre. Once inside the Bardenas Reales natural park, head south to skirt the spectacular geological formations of Rincón del Bu. Going around the firing range, head towards Carcastillo, the gateway to the part of Bardenas Reales where transhumant sheep from Navarre’s Pyrenean valleys graze.

At km 55.3, turn towards the Eguaras preserve and the ruins of the Peñaflor castle. Carry on towards Arguedas to reach the well-known geological formation called Castildetierra. Leave the park on a different path from the one you entered it on, ascending to the chapel of El Yugo to contemplate one last panoramic view of this fascinating area.
