A crucial scene in the Carlist wars of the 19th century, Montejurra is now the ideal place to grab your gravel bike and make the most of its tracks.
In fact, this area is the setting for a trailblazing race in this cycling discipline, the Tierra Estella Epic Gravel.

Starting in Villatuerta, the landscape on the route you are going to take, which includes the Alloz reservoir, is quite unique. You also get the chance to see the mediaeval village of Cirauqui, with its stone doorways and winding streets. Continue on your way towards Mañeru to continue through the copses lining the Arga river to Mendigorria. Bear in mind that its municipal area is home to the remains of the imposing Roman city of Andelos, which is very close to the route and you can make a short detour to visit.

Leave the course of the river behind you to climb gently towards Oteiza, riding over its hills until you get back to the starting point. In short, a route that represents all the versatility of gravel.
