Zamariain viewpoint

The trail ascends through forests and meadows, where mares with foals can often be found, to the Zamariain-Nikozelea viewpoint, overlooking the Olaldea oak forest and Irati river. Exercise extreme caution at the viewpoint; there are no safety barriers.

The route begins next to the NA-140 road in Garaioa, where a signpost indicates the way up to the viewpoint. It first passes through the village and, after about 130 metres, joins a track that crosses hay meadows.

It then becomes a trail that winds through woodland and diverse vegetation. You pass a livestock hut on the left and, shortly after, find the turn-off to the
viewpoint, accessible via a dirt track and a section of pathway.

The return journey follows the same route, rejoining the concrete track that leads back to Garaioa.
