This trail follows the Ezkurra river, passing springs, the Elgorriaga spa and the Zubieta mill. It goes through mixed forests with centuries-old chestnut and oak trees and pastures, bordas (traditional farm buildings) and passes through villages such as Santesteban, Elgorriaga, Ituren, Aurtitz district and Zubieta, known for its carnival.

The route is ideal for summer due to its cool temperatures and shade, is suitable for mountain biking and is notable for its stone bridges. It begins in Santesteban (Merkatu Plaza) and follows the course of the Ezkurra river.

After passing the turnoff for Elgorriaga, you catch sight of the Elgorriaga spa. Continuing along the riverbank, you pass by Ituren, the Latsaga district with its grand houses bearing coats of arms and Aurtitz, where there is a recreational area by the river.

Carrying on, you can enjoy views of the sharp peak of Mount Mendaur until you reach Zubieta amidst fields of corn, where you can see old millstones and the flour mill that marks the end of the route.
