This trail leads to a seasonal waterfall, cool in summer but very slippery when it rains. On the hillsides, there are the marked remains of baryte mines that were operational until 1976. As you climb, you can enjoy beautiful views of Elizondo.

The route passes through wooded areas with age-old chestnut and oak trees. It begins in Foru Plaza in Elizondo, next to the Baztan district hall. After passing through a stone archway and crossing the N-121-B road via an underpass, you ascend to Casa Oinaska, where a steep section begins that leads to the waterfall (it doesn’t always have water).

Continue to a viewpoint overlooking Elizondo and the Baztan mountains. Follow a country track that crosses the perimeter of a shooting range and leads
to the entrances of old baryte mines.

The route finally joins up with the GR-11 trail and returns through wooded areas and past livestock sheds back to the starting point in Elizondo.
