Paraísos Erlan-Irabia

This route through the Irati forest winds through beech and fir trees, the light filtering through the leaves, creating a serene, refreshing, majestic setting.

The trail begins in the parking area next to the Irabia reservoir and is ideal for families. The track narrows into a path that skirts the reservoir, offering panoramic views of the water and surrounding greenery. Interpretive panels encourage appreciation for the forest’s natural richness and its sustainable management.

The route crosses a footbridge over a brook and leads to the Irabia viewpoint, where a model of an old log raft illustrates the tradition of transporting timber downriver. From there, the view of the reservoir and the vast Irati forest is breathtaking: a sea of trees stretching as far as the eye can see. Finally, the trail descends gently back to the starting point, a journey full of nature, history and peace.
