Connecting Carcastillo and Santacara, this route follows the Aragón river and Caparroso canal. It traverses riverside woodlands, declared Natural areas, and hillsides near the Bardenas Reales natural park.

The route begins in Carcastillo, passing through allotments, crossing the bridge over the Aragón river and along a section of road not designed for pedestrians to the Murillo crossroads.  It continues along a flat farm track through copses and fields, reaching the Rinconar crossroads, where the river’s confined against the hillside. After crossing two concrete bridges, the route reaches the Caparroso canal dam. Further on, it crosses the bridge over the canal next to a hydroelectric power station to reach the Santacara crossroads, ending in the village square and children’s playground.

Walk carefully in narrow sections near the road. The trail crosses areas used for big and small game hunting during the season.
