Balgorra

This trail crosses the Balgorra valley through vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields, where wind turbines in the Peña Blanca wind farm stand amidst flowers.

The route begins in Tafalla, next to Panueva bridge and the NA-8607 roundabout, in a parking area with an information panel. After passing under the railway and motorway, the path splits: right for the way back, left to Peña Blanca ridge, with wind turbines, beehives and Gurrutxo’s cabin.

From turbine A.7, you go to Alto de Valdelobos, with beautiful views. Next is the Pozuelo spring (untreated water) and, along a path lined with kermes oak trees, a shepherd’s hut. The route continues towards the heights of Portillo del Aire and the Navarre canal. Among fields stands the stone reservoir of Fuente del Rey. Passing through allotments, take the path back to Tafalla. Be careful: wild boar hunting area (August-February).
