Puente La Reina preserves fortifications such as Santa Isabel fort, which this trail passes. It ends at the Romanesque bridge on the Way of St James.

The route begins next to the Romanesque bridge over the Arga river, where there’s an information panel. Continue along Calle San Pedro until you cross the NA-1110 and follow the riverbank past the NA-6064.

The trail climbs up the hillside until you reach San Gregorio fort (a wild boar hunting area from August to February and also a dog training area), Portillo de Nekeas and Santa Isabel fort. Then it descends to the Arnotegi saddle, opposite a striking chapel, and passes by the local cemetery, circling
Reducto hill.

The way back follows the Way of St James, passing by the Church of El Crucifijo. Cross the NA-1110, climb up to Zabaltzagain fort and then on to the Arga river. You get back to the starting point along its banks.
